One-Day Industrial Visit:

Our main objective for this visit is to become familiar with the industrial environment, gain practical knowledge of electrical power transmission and distribution, and also learn about the details of the working process and the necessity of a substation.

Electric Motors: Types, Principle of operation and Applications:

It was held on 11th April 2024 and the objective of the event was:-

• A webinar's objective is to instruct, demonstrate, educate, or provide students with knowledge that they will find interesting.
• The objective of the webinar was to provide detailed knowledge to the students of EE department about electric motors, their working principals and their application and also explain them how to solve problems in a scientific way.
• Visual representation of various electrical motors, their working principals and factors involved in selection of components.

Brain Maniac - 2024:

Model Presentation in tech-fest “BRAIN MANIAC - 2024” organised by Camellia Institute of Polytechnic, on March 7 th & 8 th , 2024.

TANTRAJA 2K24:

Obtained 4 th prize in Model Presentation in tech-fest “TANTRAJA 2K24” organised by Dr. B.C Roy Polytechnic, Durgapur, on March 6 th & 7 th , 2024.

Energy Conservation Day:

It was held on 14th December 2023 and the objective of the event was to celebrate Energy conservation Day was celebrated under ISTE student Chapter and IIC, with a poster Competition, having the theme climate change and Global warning, The students from all department and all the years participated in the event.

Mathematics and Reasoning Contest:

It was held on 29th November 2023 and The event was conducted under ISTE Student Chapter for all the years and all the departments the main purpose was to improve Student’s Mathematics skills, to check their reasoning capacity, to aware them about various other events of the college, to increase their thinking ability.

Tree plantation drive

The tree plantation drive was conducted by Electrical Engineering Department, Swami Vivekananda School of diploma. On Wednesday, 20 July 2022. Students from second Year, 4th semester, Electrical Engineering had participated in this event and planted trees in the mentioned venue. This event has been scheduled between 1.00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. More than 50 students and all the faculty members of the Electrical Engineering Department had participated in this drive. The program was inaugurated by honourable President sir Mr. Tapan Kumar Pobi of "SANAKA EDUCATIONAL TRUST" and honourable Director sir Dr.Saikat Chatterjee of "SANAKA EDUCATIONAL TRUST".

Hands- On Workshop on Electrical and Electronic Circuits

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Swami Vivekananda School of diploma organized a two day Hands-on Workshop on Electrical and Electronics Circuits on 2nd November and 3rd November, 2022. The idea workshop was to equip students with the various components and their workings that they would be coming across in the next few years. Mr. Soumya kanti Datta and Mr. Kailash Bauri had shown different electrical components such as resistor, capacitor, inductor, battery etc and electronic components such as diode, LED, transistors and soldering machines. Different types of circuits and electrical joints were introduced and the necessary apparatus to form the circuit were provided to them.Students were enlightened with the knowledge of microcontroller based electronic circuit i.e Arduino Uno. Mr Arjun Ray had given a brief introduction on Arduino Uno and shown the students the how the microcontroller work by the help programing. More than 80 students and all the faculty members of the Electrical Engineering Department had participated in this workshop. The program was inaugurated by honorable Principal sir Mr. Suman Pramanik of " Swami Vivekananda School of Diploma " and honorable Registrar sir Dr. Snigdhadip Ghosh of " Swami Vivekananda School of Diploma " .

Teacher’s Day celebration

Our college celebrated Teachers’ Day on the 5th of September organized by the final year students of all the branches B.tech, B.Arch, Diploma, and B.pharm with great enthusiasm to honor the teachers who put so much effort into shaping our Student’s Future. The teachers and students gathered in the auditorium which was beautifully decorated with flowers, gifts, cards, banners, and festoons to surprise all the teachers. The program started at 11 a.m. with a prayer song. The principal of the college Mr. Suman Pramanik and our honorable Registrar presided over the function. they put a garland on the photograph of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan to pay him homage. Then the Principal congratulated the teachers and acknowledged the sincere efforts they put in every day. He gave a valuable speech on Dr. Radhakrishnan and explained the importance of Teachers’ Day. All the teachers enjoyed and appreciated the program.

One week internship program on Workshop Practice

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Swami Vivekananda School of diploma had organized an One week internship program on “Workshop Practice” from 12th, December to 16th December, 2022. The objective of this program was to give the students of second year an exposure to the industrial environment and utilization of various tools in the industrial work. The idea of this workshop was to equip students with the various components and their workings that they would be coming across in the next few years.

BRIEF REPORT ON INTERNSHIP:

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Swami Vivekananda School of Diploma organized an one week internship program on “Workshop Practice”. The event was segregated into various modules such as

• Dismantling and assembling of DG ,
• Familiarization with various engineering tools and measurement of resistance using colour coding process and verify the result with Multimeter ,
• Estimation of electric power demand for a particular floor by Load demand calculation,
• Visit to a solar power plant and wind mill,
• Visit to an 11KV/ 415V sub-station.

Show your skills in english

The Seminer Hall hosted the competition called "Show Your Skills in English" on February 1st, 2023. This programme is organised by Mr. Krishanu Banerjee (Sr. Lecturer, BASIC SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES DEPT). The primary goal of this competition is to provide a platform for demonstrating English proficiency. Mainly Students of Diploma 1st Semester were chosen to be a part of this event.This event was particualrly for them as they are new to this college . So to adapt with the competitive athmosphere this kind of event will be helpful to them .

National Energy Conservation Day

National Energy Conservation Day Celebration was organized on 14 th December,2022.This programme is oprganized by Mr. SOUMYA KANTI DUTTA (BASIC SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES).

The real objective for organizing this event was to raise awareness of the following points:

• To spread awareness on efficient energy use and conservation.
• Encouraging students to think about developing innovative solutions.
• Spreading Awareness on Global warming and climate change
• Making efforts on saving energy resource.
• Contribution of our nation towards energy conservation.

CODING CARNIVAL

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Swami Vivekananda School of diploma had organized an one week internship programme on "CODING CARNIVAL" from 30 th - 31 st January, 2023.This programme is associated with ISTE.

• Programming skills provide engineers with an opportunity to integrate innovative technologies into their everyday work and make it more efficient.
• You would be able to get a close-up and a better understanding of how machines and other equipment work. For example, if you are planning to make a career in electrical engineering, then you can use your coding and programming knowledge when conducting test runs.
• An ability to identify, formulates, and solves complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.

WORKSHOP ON “INNOVATIONS USING IOT”

Our college had organized an workshop on "INNOVATIONS USING IOT" from 6 th to 8 th February 2023.

• To make awareness about internet of things (IOT) in student’s mind.
• To build the concepts of IOT in student’s mind.
• To encourage the students to make innovations using IOT’s principle.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION-2023

Our college had organized seminar program on the occasion of international women's day on 8 th March, 2023.

• To celebrate the progress made towards achieving gender equality and women's empowerment.
• To critically reflect on those accomplishments and strive for a greater momentum towards gender equality worldwide.
• To celebrate women's achievements
• To raise awareness about gender inequities.
• To increase support for women worldwide.

Recent Advancement in Renewable Energy Technologies and Systems

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Swami Vivekananda School of diploma had organized "Recent Advancement in Renewable Energy Technologies and Systems” from 24 th - 29 th April, 2023.

• Faculty development programs are crucial for academic institutions to enhance the academic skills of their faculty members.
• These programs provide opportunities for faculty members to update their knowledge and skills in their respective fields of study and stay relevant to students.
• Renewable energy is the future of energy consumption in the world, and this program is aimed at educating faculty members on the latest technologies and systems in this field. Through participating in faculty development programs, educators can improve their teaching, research, and service activities, which in turn improves the educational experience for students.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY-2023

World Environment Day 2023: It is one of the biggest events celebrated every year in the world. World Environment Day is being celebrated since 1973. It is also called "People's Day" to take care of the earth and the environment. It is really important to know the ways to protect the environment. The theme for World Environment Day focuses on 'Solution For Plastic Pollution' under the campaign #BeatThePlastic. This year the day will be hosted by Côte d'Ivoire with the support of the Netherlands.

WORKSHOP ON '"ASSEMBLING AND MANUFACTURING OF LED BULBS"

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Swami Vivekananda School of Diploma held a two-day skill-development workshop on " Assembling and Manufacturing of LED bulbs " for the ongoing diploma students on September 12th and 13th, 2023 in order to familiarise the students with the practical elements of this significant technology and give beneficial hands-on experience.

• The workshop's objectives and focus were to provide students with the technical skills they would need in both the workplace and daily life. Additionally, it would improve students' employability.
• The workshop was focused on the demonstration of LED making with hands-on training that includes assembling and manufacturing LED bulb.
• This programme was a significant step in educating students about green technology and developing their sense of social responsibility.
